Help us build the finance function of the future

Insify is looking for a Finance & Data Analyst who turns raw financial and operational data into clear, actionable insight, and who helps build how we do that. You get real ownership, a small team and a direct line to leadership. And the room to do it better than you are used to.

About Insify

Insify is a high-growth scale-up backed by €43M in total funding from world-class investors like Accel, Munich Re Ventures, and Formula 1 champion Nico Rosberg. In five years, we've expanded from the Netherlands into France and Germany, and we're just getting started. Our mission: become the European leader in AI-powered SME insurance.

We aren't just building a company; we're leading a revolution. Our culture is intense, high-stakes, and mission-driven. We hire smart, ambitious "owners" who possess a relentless drive to win. This is an environment for those who thrive on challenges, value intellectual honesty, and share our mindset of becoming a global category leader.

Our founding team consists of seasoned entrepreneurs who have previously built iconic businesses like HelloFresh, Bloomon, and SumUp. We bring that same bias for speed, scale, and high standards to one of the most structurally broken experiences in financial services. Together, we combine that deep fintech and e-commerce expertise with cutting-edge AI to stay ahead of the curve.

Technology and data are in our DNA, and finance is where a multi-entity, multi-carrier business either holds together or does not. That is why we build our finance function ourselves, with people who know how it can be done better. That means you.

Your role

You are good at what you do. You know how to reconcile a messy dataset, when a number deserves a second look and how to explain a discrepancy to someone who does not live in spreadsheets. What you are probably missing is influence over how that work is organised: the systems, the workflows, the good ideas that never make it out of an inbox.

At Insify, that changes. You work at the intersection of finance, accounting and data. You reconcile premium, commission and claims positions across our insurance carrier partners, build the dashboards and automations that keep our finance operations reliable, and flag anomalies before they become problems. You do this in a small, sharp finance team in a multi-entity, multi-carrier business, which means real responsibility from day one and direct contact with the finance and operations teams, and with leadership itself.

You get a complete picture fast, even when the data is imperfect, and you know when something needs to be driven to root cause and when it can be parked. You explain your findings clearly, to accounting, to operations and to the leadership team. And within your mandate you decide how you work: no bureaucracy, just your judgement and the freedom to act on it.

The best part of this role: you do not just report the numbers, you help redesign how the numbers come together. We use technology and AI to take the repetitive work out of your day (data extraction, first-pass pattern recognition, recurring workflows), so you can spend your time on the questions where a human really makes the difference: why does this number look wrong, what does it mean and what should we decide? You help determine what we automate, what we deliberately do not automate and how we strengthen our data quality and financial controls as the company grows. You build the solution, rather than handing it to another team.

And building means building. You write your own SQL to get to the data, your own Python to clean, reconcile and automate, and you use Claude and other AI tools as a matter of course to get there faster: drafting a query, debugging a script, turning a one-off analysis into a repeatable workflow. You do not need to be a software engineer, but you do not wait for one either. Where something belongs in our production systems, you are the finance-side liaison to our data team and engineers: you translate finance's reporting needs into requirements they can build against, and translate what is technically possible or already available back to finance.

What you will do as Finance & Data Analyst at Insify

• Extract, clean and reconcile financial data across our accounting, banking and carrier systems, including premium, commission and claims positions across multiple insurance carrier partners
• Write your own SQL to query our data warehouse and financial systems, and your own Python to clean, match, reconcile and analyse data that Excel cannot handle well
• Build and maintain the scripts and small tools the finance team runs on: reconciliation scripts, carrier statement parsers, checks that flag unreconciled items automatically, and pipelines that turn a one-off analysis into a repeatable, scheduled workflow
• Use Claude and other AI tools as part of your daily toolkit to write, debug and document your code, explore data and speed up analysis, while staying accountable for the result
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools (for example in QuickSight and Excel/Sheets) that give the business real-time visibility into cash, receivables and payables
• Identify trends, anomalies and unreconciled items in financial datasets, and drive them to root cause rather than just flagging them
• Support forecasting, budgeting and cash flow planning with data-driven insight, including carrier-related working capital exposure
• Automate recurring finance workflows (for example via n8n) that connect our operational tools to our financial systems
• Partner with accounting and finance on VAT, insurance premium tax and other compliance-related reporting across our markets
• Improve data quality, financial controls and reporting processes as the company and its entity structure grow

Who you are

• You have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, data analytics or a related field, and 2 to 4 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting or data analytics
• Experience in insurance, insurtech or a fast-growing scale-up is a plus; curiosity about how insurance works is a must
• You have strong Excel and SQL skills; other languages (for example Python) are a strong plus
• You have worked with BI and reporting tools (for example Amazon QuickSight, Power BI or Tableau) and you build dashboards that support real decisions, not static reports
• You have a solid understanding of financial statements, reconciliations and key financial and operational metrics, and you are comfortable with general ledger structures (we use Exact Online); multi-entity or multi-currency experience is a plus
• You reconcile positions across multiple counterparties (bank accounts, receivables, payables) and explain discrepancies, not just report them
• You use AI-assisted tools for data cleaning, analysis and reporting as a matter of course
• You communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike; we work with an international team, so English is our daily working language.
• You are critical and analytical, self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity in a scale-up environment
• You see a process that could be better and want to change it yourself

What we offer

• A salary of 50- 70k gross per year, depending on your experience
• A small team with short lines; you work closely with our finance leadership and directly with the leadership team
• Hybrid working from our office in Amsterdam
• Room for training (for example in data, BI or finance certifications) and growth as the company grows
• Insify pension plan with a 6% employer contribution
• Travel allowance for your commute
• 25 holidays per year, plus 24 December when it falls on a weekday
• Up to 4 weeks per year of working remotely
• A €50 Alleo budget per month, to spend on whatever you like: sports, food, whatever
• Monthly drinks, a quarterly offsite, lunch-and-learns, and all the other fun things that come with a team that wins together
• A MacBook
