Voice input is about to change how people use computers. Models are finally fast enough to run locally. We're processing millions of transcriptions entirely on-device, used by developers, writers, and teams at some of the largest tech companies in the world.

We need someone who wants to make on-device ML even faster. No cloud, no latency, no privacy compromises. If you care about pushing what's possible with consumer hardware, this is it.

The job

• Improve our speech recognition models: accuracy, speed, language support
• Make models run faster on Apple Silicon. Every millisecond matters.
• Research what's new in speech recognition and figure out what we can use
• Work with the team to ship models to real users

Requirements

• 2+ years working on ML, ideally speech or audio
• You know PyTorch or TensorFlow well
• You've deployed models in production, not just trained them
• You can read a paper and implement what matters

Bonus

• CoreML, Metal, or Apple platform experience
• You've trained or fine-tuned generative models
• Open source contributions we can look at
