Job Description and RequirementsWe Are:
At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.
You Are:
You are a Staff-level web engineer and technical leader who thrives in a small, highly effective team where individual ownership has clear, outsized impact. You operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking ideas from ambiguous problem statements through architecture, implementation, deployment, and long-term operational ownership.
You set technical direction, raise engineering standards, and unblock teams through strong design judgment and pragmatic execution. You are equally comfortable shaping user experience with business stakeholders, aligning cross-functional partners, and diving deep with engineers on implementation details, performance, security, and reliability.
You listen well, write clearly, and leave behind systems—and documentation—that others can run, extend, and operate confidently.
This is a full-time role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise web applications and services, with end-to-end accountability for outcomes.
- Drive architecture across the full stack (front-end, back-end, databases, cloud), ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Set and evolve platform patterns and best practices using the PANN technology stack and associated development frameworks.
- Partner with cybersecurity, engineering, product, and business teams to define strategy, translate needs into technical roadmaps, and deliver high-value solutions.
- Own complex workflow design and deliver intuitive user experiences that simplify sophisticated business processes.
- Design and optimize relational and non-relational data architectures; guide data modeling standards and performance tuning practices.
- Lead development of AI-enabled capabilities (automation, analysis, content generation, knowledge extraction), including evaluation and responsible adoption.
- Architect integrations across business systems, knowledge repositories, and AI services; define integration standards and reusable components.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical, high-leverage solutions that improve developer velocity, user productivity, and operational excellence.
- Establish and improve monitoring, alerting, SLOs/SLIs, incident response practices, and continuous improvement loops.
- Mentor engineers, review designs and code for quality and security, and raise the bar for engineering execution across the team.
The Impact You Will Have:
- Accelerate delivery of critical internal platforms by setting technical direction and enabling consistent execution.
- Multiply team productivity through reusable platform capabilities, automation, and AI-driven workflows.
- Enable better decision-making through reliable access to organizational knowledge and high-quality data services.
- Deliver scalable, extensible solutions adopted across multiple business functions and geographies.
- Reduce manual effort and operational overhead through system integration, workflow automation, and platform standardization.
- Shape the technical direction of a growing platform supporting strategic business initiatives, influencing architecture and long-term roadmap.
- Serve as a key technical leader in a small team where ownership, accountability, and impact are highly visible.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 8+ years building and owning production enterprise web applications (strong evidence of full-stack delivery, architecture leadership, and operational ownership may offset years).
- Deep experience with the PANN technology stack (PostgreSQL, Angular, NestJS, Node.js) and modern web development frameworks.
- Proven ability to design and evolve microservices architectures, including service boundaries, API contracts, and operational concerns.
- Strong experience using Prisma for data modeling, database access, and schema migrations at scale.
- Expert knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, REST APIs, and modern application architecture patterns.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and optimizing relational and non-relational databases; hands-on PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning.
- Experience containerizing and operating services with Docker and/or Kubernetes; deploying and managing web servers, load balancers, and reverse proxies (Nginx/Apache).
- Experience with cloud-based application development and deployment, including security and cost/performance tradeoffs.
- Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and improving developer productivity through automation.
- Practical, production-oriented experience with AI technologies (LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, knowledge extraction, automation workflows), including evaluation, safety, and quality considerations.
- Strong understanding of SDLC best practices, testing strategies, secure coding principles, and threat modeling.
- Experience integrating multiple systems through APIs, eventing, and data services; ability to create durable integration patterns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence without authority and align cross-functional stakeholders.
Who You Are:
- Self-directed, highly accountable, and comfortable driving initiatives independently.
- Strategic thinker who still enjoys hands-on implementation and can dive deep when needed.
- A strong problem solver who can operate in ambiguity, make decisions, and deliver practical outcomes.
- Customer-focused with a strong UX mindset and attention to workflow design.
- Collaborative and effective across functions; able to align stakeholders and resolve tradeoffs.
- A mentor and technical leader who raises the bar for quality, security, and operational excellence.
- Results-oriented, focused on measurable business value and sustainable engineering practices.
The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:
Our team develops platforms and capabilities that help scale cybersecurity, compliance, engineering, and business operations across the organization. We operate with a startup mindset, focusing on high-impact initiatives, rapid execution, and practical innovation. You will work closely with a small group of technical and domain experts to build solutions that enable automation, knowledge management, and data-driven decision making.
Rewards and Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
